I fucking love Ghost Ship. Let’s just get that out of the way. A 5.3 / 10 rating on IMDB, and I adore this movie so fucking much it’s ridiculous. I was maybe 14 when I watched it, and it was one of the first ‘horror’ movies I ever saw, at seven in the morning after Halloween when all but two other folks had already passed out. (Maybe that’s why I thought it was that great, my brain certainly wasn’t in working condition anymore.) I apparently gushed about this movie to my parents for two weeks, who were relatively sure that I had finally lost it over all the gore (it’s not that gore-y. At 14, however, it appeared to be.)
But, even to this day, maybe because I’m seriously biased, I really love this movie. Everything seems okay, aside from the opening, of course, but then you get glimpses that something is off, again and again, and then it gets all out kill frenzy—especially the little girl’s flashback, with Nick Ingman’s My Little Box—playing, the none too surprising twist that was still kinda neat, and then the ending. Lordy, I love this thing.
I also can blame my obsession with Karl Urban entirely on this movie (so, thank you, whoever rented this DVD years ago!), and why I still couldn’t skip away from Gossip Girl whenever Desmond Harrington appears.

In short: I am trying to make a Ghost Ship graphic, BUT APPARENTLY I CAN’T FIT THE WHOLE MOVIE IN A 800x800 CANVAS. GOD DAMN IT.
